CHARGINI ("we", "our", or "us") operates the CHARGINI mobile application and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information: When you create an account, we collect:

Email address
Phone number (optional)
Password (stored encrypted)

Location Data: We collect your device's location only while you are using the app (foreground only) to:

Show nearby charging stations on the map
Calculate distances to charging stations
Provide route planning to charging stations

We do not collect your location in the background.

Camera Data: We access your camera only to scan QR codes on charging stations. We do not store photos or video.

Payment Information: Payment card details are processed through our secure payment provider and tokenized. We store only the last four digits and card brand for display purposes. We never store full card numbers on your device or our servers.

Charging Session Data: We collect data about your charging sessions including:

Start and end times
Energy consumed (kWh)
Cost of each session
Charging station used

Device Information: We collect push notification tokens to send you notifications about your charging sessions (e.g., charging complete).

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain our EV charging service
To process payments for charging sessions
To send notifications about your charging sessions
To display nearby charging stations based on your location
To improve our service and user experience
To communicate with you about your account or our services

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect data:

Open Charge Map API: To display public charging station data. Your approximate location may be sent to query nearby stations.
Google Maps: To display maps and provide navigation. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Expo / React Native: For app updates and push notifications. Subject to Expo's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only:

With your consent
To comply with legal obligations
To protect our rights or the safety of users
With service providers who assist in operating our platform (under strict confidentiality agreements)

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Charging session history is retained for billing and legal compliance purposes. When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
Encrypted password storage (bcrypt hashing)
JWT-based authentication with token refresh
Payment tokenization (no raw card data stored)

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data via the Profile section of the app
Update your personal information at any time
Delete your account and all associated data from the app's Profile > Delete Account option
Withdraw consent for location or notification permissions via your device settings
Export your data by contacting us

8. Children's Privacy

CHARGINI is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
